Brawl Stars Official Animation
Studio ONI Inc. had the honor of creating an official animation for Supercell’s Brawl Stars using traditional Japanese ink painting.
The ink lines drawn on paper came to life in the world of Brawl Stars.
For this project, characters and backgrounds were created through real brushwork on paper, then brought to life through animation, compositing, visual effects, music, and live shinobue performance.
For us, as a studio that has continued to create Japanese ink painting animation with care and dedication, this was a truly special honor.

We are honored to have created a hand-drawn Japanese ink and watercolor animation music video titled “Himitsu (Secret)”.
The song is performed by HIPPY, a Japanese artist with over 100 million total views, known for his heartwarming and inspirational songs.
It has been a true honor for all of us at Studio ONI to be part of such a beautiful project.

Operation ONI is an original work by Studio ONI, created for audiences around the world by blending traditional Japanese ink painting, digital Japanese brushwork, and hand-drawn animation.
Backgrounds are painted with traditional analog sumi-e (ink wash) techniques.

Animated in the traditional hand-drawn style, featuring the classic 8 frames per second, and thrilling action scenes.
